Choosing the right outfit for your senior photos is crucial to ensure that you look and feel your best. Opt for outfits that reflect your personal style and personality. Solid colors and simple patterns typically photograph well and avoid distracting from your personality.
While professional hair and makeup are not required for senior photos, they can enhance your overall look and boost your confidence in front of the camera. Consider hiring a professional makeup artist and hairstylist who specialize in natural, camera-ready looks. They can help accentuate your features and ensure that you look polished and flawless in your photos.
The best locations for senior photos depend on your personal style and preferences. Consider choosing locations that hold special meaning to you or reflect your interests and hobbies. Whether it's a scenic outdoor spot, urban cityscape, or cozy indoor setting, the possibilities are endless. Work with me to select locations that align with your vision and create the perfect backdrop for your photos.
The duration of the photo session can vary depending on several factors, including the number of locations and outfit changes. On average, senior photo sessions typically last between 1 to 2 hours.
Absolutely! Props can add personality and flair to your senior photos, making them more unique and memorable. Consider incorporating items such as sports equipment, musical instruments, books, or meaningful objects that represent your interests and achievements. Props can help tell your story and showcase your personality in a fun and creative way. We’ll chat about what props you’re thinking of to use them in a fun way.
Most of the time a parent stays at the session. They can provide moral support or help with outfit adjustments. Sometimes if it feels like added pressure to have someone watching during photos. It’s worth having a conversation about what each of you would like to do and are comfortable with prior to the session. Know it’s okay to ask a parent to give a little space or to stay close and make sure your hair is laying just how you like.
It's never too early to book your senior photo session! I recommend scheduling your session at least 2-4 months in advance to secure your preferred date and time. Summer and fall are very popular time for all of my sessions. Many seniors opt for their session to happen the summer going into their senior year or early in that same fall. Please note, it’s your responsibility to know when the yearbook deadline is if you want to have a photo from our session submitted.
After the photo session, I will carefully curate and edit the best photos from our shoot. I will send a you a link to your proof gallery, you'll select your images and will do the final edits before sending you your final gallery for download.
While I offer digital-only collections, I firmly believe in the transformative power of print. That is why I highly recommend purchasing prints and products from my professional lab. You can do this directly from your online gallery. There's a profound difference between viewing images on a screen and holding them in your hands. Printed artwork—whether an album or a stunning metal print—makes your memories tangible, tactile, and timeless. It adds a depth of emotion and significance that digital files simply can't replicate, transforming your photos into cherished heirlooms for generations to come. I want you to get the best quality for the investment you made on having photos taken by a professional.
Purchasing prints directly from a photographer often guarantees high-quality paper, color accuracy, and careful image processing, ensuring the best possible presentation of your photos.
Printed photos provide a physical representation of special moments that you can touch and interact with, enhancing the emotional connection to the memory. Unlike digital files which can be lost due to technology issues, printed photos offer a long-lasting way to preserve your memories.
Prints can be framed and displayed around your home to personalize your space and showcase your favorite moments.
